NYK Group Americas Inc. has appointed Patrick Burgoyne as president and chief executive officer of Ceres Terminals Inc., effective April 1.
Burgoyne has served as president and CEO of Yusen Terminals Inc. (YTI) since 2010, a role he will retain concurrently moving forward. He will be based at the Ceres’ headquarters in East Brunswick, N.J.
Both Ceres and YTI are subsidiaries of Japan’s NYK Group, parent of liner carrier NYK Line.
Burgoyne has 20 years’ experience in various international container and terminal operating positions at Sea-Land, Maersk Line and APM Terminals. He joined NYK in 2008 as then chief operating officer of Los Angeles-based YTI. He is also a member of the NYK Group Americas Inc. board, which oversees group activities in the region.
Thomas J. Simmers, who has led Ceres Terminals since 2003, will be leaving the organization March 31. - Eric Johnson
