The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) will hold a seminar on safety at sea in Washington May 21.
The seminar, titled “Environmental Intelligence in Maritime: Safety at Sea” will feature discussions of shipboard safety, piracy, and an update on issues for seafarers and will begin at 3 p.m. at the National Press Club in Washington.
Panelists will include Coast Guard Vice Adm. Brian Salerno; Michael Bohlman of Horizon Lines; Benjamin Strong, director AMVER Marine Relations; Kevin Doherty, Nexus Consulting; Rev. Canon James Von Dreele, Seamen’s Church Institute-Philadelphia and vice president of the North American Maritime Ministry Association; and Rear Adm. Wendi Carpenter, superintendent of the SUNY Maritime College. The panel will be moderated by Duncan Smith, a partner at Blank Rome.
