Henkel Consumer Goods has picked Saddle Creek Logistics Services as its primary logistics provider.
In this new role, Saddle Creek will oversee execution, monitoring and reporting of the company’s supply chain logistics performance in the United States and Canada.
Saddle Creek will serve as the liaison between all third-party logistics providers for Henkel in North America and provide day-to-day support for a wide range of functions, including order management, shipping, and KPI (key performance indicator) reporting. It will also provide on-going management support for warehouse and transportation development, systems enhancements, supply chain network improvements and more.
“Outsourcing our logistics division will help to reduce costs throughout our logistics operations while allowing us to focus on core competencies,” said Torsten Pilz, senior vice president of supply chain at Henkel Consumer Goods, in a statement. “Saddle Creek was the right choice for our LLP (lead logistics provider) because of our long-standing business relationship, their superior execution and their integrated suite of services.”
For more than two decades, Saddle Creek has gradually expanded the complexity of the services it provides to the company. “This new role is a natural progression for us – the culmination of a long history together,” said Rob Pericht, Saddle Creek’s senior vice president of warehouse operations. “With Henkel’s ever-changing and expanding supply chain, we will focus on delivering quality logistics execution management with an eye toward continuous improvement.”
Saddle Creek will assume its new role in March and operate from Henkel Consumer Goods’ consumer products headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz.
