Report: 2014 Import Operations and Compliance Benchmark Study: Chasing a Moving Target
and BPE Global have been benchmarking import supply chains for six years – no one has a better handle on the innate complexities facing import transportation and compliance teams. This year’s study captures the extent to which advances in sophistication and technology deployment are being offset by increased external complexity. Importer seem to be forever chasing a moving target.
From late March through late May 2014, 250 qualified respondents participated in a 27-question benchmarking survey covering organizational policies, structure, training, responsibilities, processes, costs, technology, and trade facilitation program participation, among other areas related to U.S. imports. The report compares the responses from shippers large and small, manufacturers, retailers and 3PLs, and systems-based or not.
