Officers at the Port of Le Havre seized 1.4 tons of cocaine in an operation last week, according to news reports.
The cocaine was found hidden inside tires that were on board a cargo ship loaded with vehicles returning from the Dakat 2014 rally in Valparaiso, Chile. The drugs were then moved by a truck bound for Spain, according to news agency The Local
Police said the drugs had a street value of 270 million euros ($371 million).
The truck was tracked by police and intercepted, resulting in the arrest of two Spanish nationals. Two additional arrests were made in Bulgaria of those believed to be the organizers of the trafficking, The Local
