The technology provider XenonFS said Monday it has introduced a new product aimed at providing users with better visibility and connectivity to their drayage operations.
The solution is meant to reduce the time and cost associated with first- and last-mile moves, especially for global non-vessel-operating common carriers (NVOs).
“The man-hours associated with such tasks as finding the right vendor, verifying compliance, establishing credit, making payments and tracking the shipment, often are not evaluated as a part of the drayage costs,” the company said. “These indirect costs add up quickly, however, especially on unfamiliar and complicated drayage shipments.”
XenonFS said its solution connects all parties in a multi-modal move, both electronically and operationally, with drayage information that is consolidated into a single system in one location via XenonFS’s web portal or by integrating with their customers' existing operating software.
“What differentiates us is our approach,” said Stacy Lange, director of key accounts for XenonFS.” We offer a unique spin on traditional brokerage by combining cutting-edge technology with best-practice consulting," says Stacy Lange, director of key accounts for XenonFS. "Drayage is complex, time consuming and, often, time sensitive. Slow reactions or responses lead to additional costs. These costs typically are neither uniform nor transparent, which adds more uncertainty to the process."
She added that XenonFS allows overseas agents to obtain quotes and book drayage online, regardless of where they are located; this is potentially a boon to global NVOs that frequently have to estimate drayage costs in advance.
The company also provides associated consulting services.
"We are all from the industry, and we understand the processes.,” Lange said. “We also know that many companies these days are tasked with doing more with less and dealing with headcount constraints."
